Die Ziegen von Es Vedra

Es Vedra ist eine kleine Insel, die Ibiza an seiner Westseite vorgelagert ist. Dort leben schon seit längerem Widlziegen, die nach neuesten Erkenntnissen die Vegetation schädigen sollen. Daher sollen Sie dort weg. Sie sollen aber nicht nur von dort weg gebracht werden, sondern sie sollen erschossen werden. Hiergegen regt sich erheblicher Protest aus den Reihen der Tierschützer. The population of goats that live on the small island of Es Vedra, is there since some considerable time. Now the Govern Balear wants to eliminate them - and we don’t know if this term implicates an extermination or a transfer.

This mania to put in order nature has provoked problems all over the planet, this is another case where they want to intervene for futile causes. “Goats are destroying the endemic flora” yes, but they are also fertilizing it! They are even spreading the seeds through their stools. And they eat dry vegetation, keeping the island clean. Till now the flora has been sufficient, Es Vedra isn’t shed of vegetation.

Maybe there’s a way to control goat population, but the total removal or extermination seems way too extreme. They are a part of the ibicenco scenery.

In no case they have to be massacred, in case the absence of goats on Es Vedra is absolutely required - we ask for the pacific removal of the animals to be well organized by the authorities. We offer ourselves as a group of volunteers, to help with the labor.

La población de cabras que viven en el islote de Es Vedra está allí desde hace tiempo. Ahora el Govern quiere eliminarlas, y este término implica un exterminio y no un traslado.

Esta manía de poner en orden la naturaleza ha acarreado problemas en todo el planeta, y este es otro caso donde se quiere intervenir por causas insignificantes.

"Las cabras destrozan la flora endémica". Sí, ¡pero también la fertilizan! Incluso esparcen las semillas a traves de sus deposiciones. Y se comen los arbustos secos, manteniendo limpio el islote. Hasta ahora ha habido flora suficiente, Es Vedra no está despojada de vegetación.

Quizás haya que encontrar una forma de controlar la población, pero la retirada o eliminación total de los animales parece muy extrema. Son parte del paisaje ibicenco.

En ningun caso tienen que masacrearlas, en caso de ser absolutamente necesaria la ausencia de cabras en Es Vedra - se pide organizar la retirada pacifica de los animales. Nos ofrecemos en grupo de voluntarios, para ayudar con la labor y sanctuarios para acojerlas.

Exigimos que saquen a las cabras vivas de Es Vedra y permitan que hagan la cuarentena en una finca sanctuario designada por la asociacion animalista Assaib.
